Watch the Anti-Bullying Self Defense Youtube!

The Art of Jung SuWon

This past Saturday, May 26th, we have had a very private Black Belt Testing at Jung Suwon.  Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim tested our three mature warriors, ranging from age 61 – 72,  for the next level black belt.

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim had invited a few very special guests and wowed them with an incredible program, including the use of new breaking materials.

Mr. Greg Dumas, Mr. Bert McMahon and Mr. Harrison Peoples were on deck and did a most fantastic job.  More on that in the next post though, plus an exciting video to show you highlights of what happened.

Meanwhile, here is a beautiful and all new Jung Suwon self-defense routine performed by Ms. Nabi White and Master Jonathan Palmer.

On Saturday, May 26th, Great GrandmasterDr. Tae Yun Kim tested 3 warriors for their next black belt rank.

What was so special about this testing is that the 3 warriors are over 60 years old each!  One is 61, one will be 63 next week and the other is 72!!

They have trained at Jung SuWon for over 17 years each.

It was beautiful to listen to their testimonials and to remember them when they first started training.

They faced challenges that they had never seen before… and completed them with amazing focus and strength!

It was great to watch each of them face their challenges and push through!  The beauty of Jung SuWon training is that you have to be ready, any time, any place.

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim‘s teachings are timeless and filled with wisdom.  Mr. Harrison Peoples shared how he had carried guilt for…

Gluten Free Sandwich for Lunch!

May 28, 2012

Sounds delicious! I’m going to make this sandwich for lunch!

Healthy Foods Inspired by Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim

It’s Memorial Day weekend, and we practically live outdoors now, especially since the temperatures are wonderful, around 65 degrees!  Perfect!

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim has invited us to all kinds of great outdoor activities, including a BBQ.  But until then, hungry warriors are storming Jung Suwon, and something has got to be done about that!

It can’t take too much time to make food either, so here is a very healthy and very fast sandwich idea to keep Jung Suwon warriors going!  This can be made with regular bread, or, like I do, with your favorite gluten free bread.

Asparagus sandwich:

Pre-heat oven to 400 F.

Wash, and thinly slice lengthwise a handful of asparagus spears (about 6 or so spears per 2 sandwiches).  Sautee in one tablespoon of oil, with freshly crushed garlic, and add a tablespoon of chopped cashew nuts.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  Saute…

Jung SuWon Graduation and Word Search Puzzle!

May 27, 2012

Great Grandmaster Dr. Tae Yun Kim’s Jung SuWon Warrior Graduation is exciting for everyone: students, families, friends, special guests, and especially for Jung SuWon warriors who passed all of their tests!

On May 26, 2012, 3 Jung SuWon blackbelt warriors tested for their next rank by breaking boards that were twice thicker than normal and a series of bricks that were set-up at 7 different Code of Ethics Stations. And as a bonus, 2 more speed break brick stations were set up to test their inner power.  These 3 warriors from 61-72 years old had tremendous speed, spirit, gratitude, and humbleness.  They spoke from their hearts of lifelong challenges that they’ve overcome while training with Great Grandmaster Dr. Tae Yun Kim, at Jung SuWon Martial Arts Academy.  These 3 warriors graduated 2 levels above what they expected. And everyone there cheered happily with their accomplishments!

Have fun with the new Jung SuWon Graduation Word Search Puzzle.  The words go: forward, backwards, up, down, diagonal up, diagonal down.

He can do! She Can Do! Why Not Me! – Maze

May 22, 2012

Here is a Maze that will test your patience and persistance.

Instructions: Start on the left side, travel through the maze, and finish on the right side.

Great Grandmaster Dr. Tae Yun Kim’s motto is:  He can do, she can do, why not me?  You have to have the mental attitude to do the work for yourself.  He can do, she can do, why not you?  Yes – those victories you’ve seen others attain?  You can too!  Why not you?  Too many people shortchange themselves, discount themselves with too much fear and self-doubt.  You have power!  In reality, the only thing that separates you from your victory is work. If you are not mentally lazy, you have unlimited opportunity!  This means you can do, if you are willing to take the necessary mental and physical steps and persist and persist until you win!

To help relax and release tensions,

here is a simple Morning Sun Form

to do with Great Grandmaster Dr. Tae Yun Kim!

“When you express purity – which is the truth about yourself, your Silent Master Consciousness, you feel a love for yourself that is expressed by self-respect, self-esteem, and self-confidence.  Love and all the feelings of love, come with recognizing what is true about you and everything around you.”

This excerpt is by Dr. Tae Yun Kim, in her Seven Steps to Inner Power book/ebook and in her Jung SuWon Martial Arts Academy!

Crossword Puzzle and Belts to Color

May 2, 2012

The Korean term for Uniform is do-bok. Do means “way of life,” and bok means “a spiritual protector or shield against the elements.”  Thus, the wearing of your uniform has great symbolic value.  When you wear it, you also “wear” your commitment to follow the spiritual path leading to your Silent Master.  Your commitment is assuredly your protection against the elements.

Your belt wrapped around your waist symbolizes the unity of spirit you share with others on the path, and its “Color” proudly proclaims your level of achievement.  When you honor your uniform, you honor your real self!
