In Seven Steps to Inner Power, pg 58, Author Dr. Tae Yun Kim defines “Effective Visualization”!

Excerpt: “The practice of creative visualization is not idle day dreaming or wishful thinking. Yes, you could say that it’s like dreaming, but it’s more than that. It is focused imagining, with the power of your will and persistence behind it. It is an immaterial activity that takes form first as a mental image, then as a material image.”

JSW Testing Word Search

Jung SuWon Testing is a time of Celebration, where students are tested not only in their physical abilities, but also in their spiritual energy and mental attitude.

In: Seven Steps to Inner Power, by Author Tae Yun Kim, pages 79-80

Pg 79, Jung SuWon Physical Training

“Your mind and body are one. Therefore, when you practice the Jung SuWon physical forms along with the seven mental and spiritual principles, you develop your whole being, not your mind only, not your body only.”

Pg 80, Physical Training is Overcoming Limitation

“Certainly, increased physical strength and the knowledge of self-defense are desirable rewards of Jung SuWon martial art training; they reduce fear and weakness and build true confidence and self esteem.  The quality of physical training in Jung SuWon depends directly on the extent to which the spiritual training is applied. Learning the martial art moves and forms, learning how to spar effectively with an opponent, and demonstrating extraordinary physical feats (breaking bricks with your bare hand) require that you use all the principles of awareness, balance, visualization, commitment – all the rules of mental conduct as well as the seven principles of inner power.

Training in the physical form of Jung SuWon requires that you focus all these ideas within the parameters of this structured art form and that you develop yourself and measure your progress in a disciplined manner (such as during a Jung SuWon Testing).  Your training, then, can be a feedback system, letting you know where you stand in taking control of your mind and body.”

“Give your actions a purpose and find the reward in your accomplishments. Act now. Make the most out of every moment and don’t forget to Smile along the way!” ~Tae Yun Kim

A “Smile” can help you to feel good about yourself, and can also bring smiles to others around you.

Jung SuWon training is 24 hours a day, both on the dojang floor and especially away from the dojang in your every day life.  Training helps to improve self confidence, mental confidence, physical fitness, balance, discipline, and has many other benefits for your Body, Mind and Spirit. A person could walk onto the dojang floor full of stress and after a good workout leave the dojang feeling fantastic with a big Smile!

Seven Steps to Inner Power, pg 75, ~Dr. Tae Yun Kim
 .
One of nature’s most beautiful symbols is “patience” the transformation – the metamorphosis – of the caterpillar into a butterfly, when the outward picture of the caterpillar’s  “beingness” changes drastically from one form into another.
 .
For a certain period, the caterpillar ingests food to enable it to grow to a certain point. This is a distinct period of time that cannot be rushed. When that point is reached, it then forms a cocoon in which it must wait for another period of time. A transformation occurs in the quiet cocoon that cannot be rushed or disturbed. Then at last, at the appointed time, a butterfly emerges, a different creature altogether from the caterpillar, who then reproduces so that the cycle begins all over again.

2017 Lunar New Year “Fire Rooster”, and Connect the Dots

January 29, 2017

rooster_connect_dots

This 2017 Lunar New Year, (January 27, 2017), is the year of the “Fire Rooster”

What ”Fire Rooster” Means

Both the zodiac sign and the element shape the astrology of the year. For example, 2017 is a Fire Rooster year. Element-sign combinations recur every 60 years.

Both zodiac sign and element are believed to affect one’s personality and destiny.

In Chinese astrology, each zodiac year is not just associated with an animal sign, but also with one of five elements: Gold (Metal), Wood, Water, Fire, or Earth.

~~~
Dr. Tae Yun Kim’s The First Element book, pg 41, has a description of the “Fire” element.
Here is an excerpt:
Your Spiritual Body is “Fire”. Fire is the element which corresponds to your pure life force energy.  This energy manifests electrical or electromagnetic forces which operate just below the level of your physical body. This is the body of flowing energy which acupuncturists adjust in order to correct physical problems.
In a healthy state, this fire ki energy flows throughout the body in currents expressing the nature of yin and yang. In an unbalanced state, your physical body may manifest signs of too much yang fire energy (an excited, overactive state, such as a fever) or too much yin (a lethargic or stagnant state, such as a cold.)
The Art of Jung SuWon
This weekend, there has been a lot of activity at our own Jung Suwon facility, all sorts of beautification and improvements going on!
Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim wants us to have the best possible place to train at, and so has encouraged us to make some improvements – lets take a look at what is happening!
Planting at Jung Suwon isn’t just putting flowers into the ground.  Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim encourages us to think beyond – when preparing the soil – prepare to accomplish a goal.  When we settle a plant into the ground, we set our goals, give them root.  When we put the soil around the plant, and tamp it down, we add determination to our goals.  Finally, when we weed and water, we also pull out everything that could prevent us from accomplishing our goals, and we give our goals renewed energy.
After planting…
